EC-Council Partnership
Mission: The EC-Council mission is "to validate information security professionals who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge required in a specialized information security domain that will help them avert a cyber conflict, should the need ever arise." EC-Council is committed to uphold the highest level of impartiality and objectivity in its practices, decision making, and authority in all matters related to certification.
EC-Council was formed after the attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Founder Jay Bavisi wanted to ensure that there were tools and resources readily available if there was a Cyber Attack with the intent to disarm or cripple the United States of America, similar to the 9/11 attacks. The International Council of E-Commerce Consultants, EC-Council, was formed to create information security training and certification programs to protect against potentially devastating Cyber Attacks.
TMCC is a proud partner since February of 2023, and is working to prepare students with the skills and knowledge to become cybersecurity professionals with a curriculum that reflects the Seven Teachings of the Anishinaabe People with the newly offered BAS in Cyber Defense program. This program builds off the skills and knowledge students learn in the 9-month certificate or AAS degree in Cyber Security and Data Privacy that are both offered here at TMCC as well.
